World Environment Day - My Planet My Pride

One plant is the foundation of the future, reduce plastic, life lessons

World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June. This day gives us an opportunity to understand the importance of nature, protect the environment and spread awareness. It was started by the United Nations in 1972, and since then this day is celebrated globally.

Importance of Environment

The environment is the basis of our life. Air, water, trees, wildlife, all these are such gifts of nature without which it is impossible to imagine life. A clean environment is not only necessary for our physical health, but also for mental and social health. But today due to human negligence, the environment is in serious trouble. To draw the attention of the world towards this problem, 'World Environment Day' is celebrated every year on 5 June.

Today's situation and challenges

Today the environment is facing many crises like deforestation, pollution, climate change, destruction of biodiversity, excessive use of plastic, etc. If we do not wake up now, the coming generations will face a very difficult and unsafe future. Today's environment has become much more polluted and unbalanced than before. Indiscriminate cutting of forests, increasing factories, smoke from vehicles, increasing use of plastic and climate change have harmed nature. As a result, crises like natural disasters, drought, floods, melting of glaciers and reduction in biodiversity are emerging.

An initiative to save the environment by RAJNI CARE FOUNDATION

In this sequence, Rajni Care Foundation (RCF) does plantation work every year with a view to save the environment and climate change. The head of RCF organization, Mr. Devendra Mohan 'Bhaiya Ji' told that his organization goes to different places every year and does plantation work. To save the environment, he told that we should plant more and more trees, save water and electricity, adopt reuse and recycling, reduce the use of plastic, follow environmental laws and make others aware, use public transport more. World Environment Day reminds us that this earth is not only ours, but also of the coming generations. We should take steps like tree plantation, water conservation, less use of plastic, use of renewable energy, and environmental education.

Theme of World Environment Day, 2025

The theme of World Environment Day 2025 is - “Putting an End to Plastic Pollution”. This campaign comes under the #BeatPlasticPollution initiative run by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), which aims to eliminate plastic pollution globally. Plastic Pollution Every year about 11 million tons of plastic waste enters water bodies, causing huge damage to marine life and ecosystems. Microplastics have entered the soil and food chain, affecting human health. Economic cost The annual social and environmental cost of plastic pollution is estimated to be between $300 and $600 billion.

World Environment Day is not just a day but a movement to save lives. Let us all pledge to do everything possible to protect the environment so that our future is greener, safer and balanced.
